This sounds like the definition of an academic. I know an English professor, for example, who likes to tell me which theologians I should read. Come to think of it, sounds like the definition of an asshole.
You could leave for journalism. Journalists make assertions about everything on the basis of no specialized knowledge about anything.
I'll think about it! Meanwhile, I'm waiting to hear a post-9/11 definition of "celebrity" ala McCain's latest ads,
